Rebecca Allen is originally from New Orleans, Louisiana where she danced with the Jefferson Ballet Theatre. In 2001 she received her B.A. in Cultural Studies from the University of New Orleans. She taught ballet for First Light Arts Academy in Franklin for three years and is currently on staff with the Vanderbilt Dance Program. In the fall of 2007 she was chosen to perform with the Limon Dance Company at Ingram Hall through their residency at Vanderbilt. She has been a member of StillPoint Dance Theatre in Nashville, under the direction of Sharon Perry, since 2005
