Summer Programs

Summer offerings at FSPA include weekly classes, week long camps, and intermediate to advanced level intensives. The list below is grouped by age and levels beginning with age 3. Please scroll to the bottom of the list to view our dance intensives. For descriptions of the classes offered, go to 'classes' and click on the dance form you are interested in viewing. Students registering for more than one class in our June or July session may group their hours together for the monthly pricing discount listed at the bottom of this page.

Creative Movement: Age 3-5, June Session (6/9-7/3), Thursdays: 4:00-4:45 PM . . . $54.00�

Irish dance: Age 4-7, June 23-27, Monday through Friday, 12:00-12:30 PM. . . $50.00

Ballet Princess Camp: Age 6-8: July 28- August 1, Monday through Friday, 10:00-11:30 AM . . . $75.00

* This camp will introduce the students to the lead characters from the ballets Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, and Cinderella. Students will learn ballet as well as the character movements of the ballet princesses from a professional ballerina, Miss Jennifer Drake. Students will need pink tights, a leotard, and pink ballet shoes.

Dance Sampler Camp: Age 6-9: June 23-27, Monday through Friday, 9:30 AM-12:00 PM . . . $125.00

* This camp will give the student a chance to experience many different dance forms. The students will revolve between FSPA faculty at 30 Minute intervals learning ballet, jazz, modern, hip hop, Irish, and tap. They will also have a short break for a drink and snack and work on dance related art projects throughout the week. Students should wear shorts or sweat pants with a T-shirt or leotard. Long hair should be secured up off face and neck. Students will need socks or ballet shoes, tennis shoes, and a tap or hard soled shoe.

Ballet Princess Camp: Age 9 - 11: for students in levels 2 -3, July 28-August 1, Mon. through Fri., 12:00-2:00 PM . . $90.00

Intermediate and advanced 3 week ballet program with British Ballet coach, Josephine Cavopol

Must be at ballet level 4X or higher to participate (new students must make an appointment to audition)

Josephine Cavopol trained with the Royal Academy of Dance, UK under the tutelage of Dame Dorothy Stevens OBE ARAD MA who was trained by the legendary Vera Volkova, an early protégée of Agrippina Vaganova. Josephine went on to train as a teacher, covering all theoretical and classical studies at a Royal Academy Approved Teacher Training program in the North of England with Dame Dorothy Stevens, and Arts/media in Education studies( BA) with BICC/Leeds University UK. She has taught for 25 years in vocational ballet programs and companies in the UK and USA. She has designed and written classical syllabi for vocational schools and companies and has trained many successful teachers. Her former students dance in major companies around the world. Josephine has also worked as company ballet mistress, choreographer, teacher trainer and guest teacher for companies around the USA and UK.
