 Irish - Ages 5-7/ 8 & Up/Adult

Classes meet once per week and begin with introductory soft shoe technique.  Level 2 introduces the hard shoe.  Beginner classes are offered as Irish Tots ages 4-5 (new class for 2008-09), Irish Intro ages 5-7, Irish 1 for ages 8 and up, and Adult Irish.  Students choosing to compete must take a technique class a minimum of two times per week, and commit to attending several of the competitions on the schedule.  The Irish dance program at FSPA—‘Damhsa Onórach’—is registered with the Irish Dance Commission under our TCRG-certified instructor, Kate Adams Johnson. The Gaelic school name translates to 'dance of honor;’ our belief is that all students should take honor and feel pride in what they accomplish.  All students who choose to enter competitions sanctioned by the Irish Dance Commission must agree to abide by their rules and guidelines.  Performing opportunities abound throughout the year for both competing and non-competing Irish dance students.
