Creative Movement is the preface to our ballet program.  Students must be 3 years old by September 1, 2009 in order to be enrolled in the 2009-2010 school year.
Classes focus on developing coordination, strength and flexibility, articulation of feet, motor and cognitive skills, expression and musicality, and encouraging creativity through structured games and exercises.  Each class offers exercises that are developmentally appropriate to the age of the student.  Therefore, classes are offered as ages 3 to 5 (preschool), 5 to 6 (kindergarten), and 6 to 7(first grade).  Our goal is to facilitate growth of the student’s inspiration to dance, move, and be creative while instilling appropriate postures and movement patterns that will be layered upon as they grow in their dance classes.   We created our curriculum with the influences of both the Royal Academy of Dance preprimary ballet syllabus and Anne Green Gilbert's Creative Movement and 'Braindance' programs in Seattle, WA.  For more information on Ms. Gilbert, see the link below.
